Welcome to my site! I have been providing agency-based services to the Helena community for 18 years, including eleven years as a hospice social work case manager and, most recently, five years as a therapist and director of Counseling Services at a local college. My educational background includes undergraduate degrees in psychology and sociology from Gonzaga University, a Masters Degree in Social Work from Eastern Washington University, and attaining my License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) in 2009. I have completed advanced training in several treatment modalities designed to serve clients with diverse issues across the life span.
Spending much of my career in medical settings has allowed me to provide psychotherapeutic support to individuals and families experiencing grief and loss due to death, degenerative illness, chronic pain, and other stressful life transitions. My practice has also focused heavily on the treatment of anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation in a wide range of clients, from older adolescents to aging adults. When serving clients, I work largely within the framework of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and draw on many Cognitive and Behavior Therapy (CBT) techniques. I find these models very useful when processing painful situations – both past and present – while moving toward fulfilling lives that align with our authentic selves and values. As your therapist, I will consistently work with you through a strengths-based perspective believing that you are valuable, whole, and capable. |
